The winners were announced at a presentation ceremony in late August. In first place with a perfect score was the unbeatable Flying Valentes; Chris Adam, Jimmy Valente, Johnny Swarbrick and Mark Nelson. This is the third time this team has won the competition but some of the other players are now giving them ‘a run for their money’. Congratulations and a huge thank you are extended to the team members who not only play like champs but also assist with running the competition, keeping the courts in top condition and generally helping in any way they can.
In second place was a team of newbies to the game, Harcourts Wine Coast. The players included stalwarts Cameron Walker and Casey Evans who didn’t miss a night and both playing exceptionally well. They were ably backed up by Chris Cotton and Nick Dukic on most nights. Well done guys!
This year was a wonderful year with everyone playing competitively but fairly whilst having a great time with lots of fun and laughter and making new friends. Each week a different team supplied a delicious supper which was always exceptional.
The winners were presented with the P Belci Cleaning Services Perpetual Trophy by Jenny and Peter Belci who donated the trophy. They also received a long sleeved polo shirt emblazoned with the Night Owl Bocce and the Brown Bulkhaul logos which were donated by Elle and Drew Brown owners of Brown Bulkhaul.
